Secret Service Have Taken Trump Away From Press Briefing After Shots Were Reportedly Fired Outside The White House

Update 2: Trump had returned to the podium.

Update 3: Trump has returned and explained the situation – “There was a shooting outside of the White House and it seems to be very much under control. I’d like to thank the Secret Service for their always quick and very effective work but their was an actual shooting and somebody was taken to the hospital. I don’t know the condition of the person but it seems that the person was shot by Secret Service. There are no details, we just found out right now. It was outside of the White House. It seems that the shooting was done by law enforcement at that person.”

Update 4: Trump continues – “Secret Service will have a full report in a little while. They’ll have a full report. The world has always been a dangerous place, it’s not something that is unique. You look back over the centuries, the world has been a dangerous place. I feel safe with the Secret Service, they’re fantastic people. They’re the best of the best. They’re highly trained…There’s nobody like these people.”

During President Trump’s presser this evening, he was abruptly pulled away from the podium and taken into another room. There are now initial reports of shots being fired near the White House. No further details at this time. Additional information will be added to this post as it comes.
